Positive: Fantastic in every way. The staff are incredible - so helpful and thoughtful. Really well managed by Melvin. He is very responsive. I brought a group here and everyone loved it. The rooms are exquisitely decorated and furnished- each one unique. The food is excellent. A real standout property in the area . We will be back - if there’s space!
Negative: Can’t fault it at all - which is unusual for me!

Positive: This hotel is absolutely beautiful.
Negative: Our room, and I think most Rooms, faced Southwest. That means in the afternoon with the sun pouring in you had to close the windows and the big blackout shutters or the room would heat up quickly and without air-conditioning. So basically we paid a lot of money to stay in an expensive and beautiful cave. We couldn’t open the blinds until the sun went down. Also, it’s a ways off the Camino so the hotel arranged a taxi to and from the Camino and charged us €20 each way. I’m guessing they even made money off the deal.

Positive: It was peaceful, a true sanctuary. It was amazingly beautiful and the staff was very concerned with all details.
Negative: The spa was not included with the price.

Positive: A very beautiful place with plenty of space. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was wonderful, with a great view of the gardens. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay overnight, and I would happily recommend it.
Negative: The only downside is that the property is located off the main Camino de Santiago route. You'll need to take a taxi back to the Camino in Palas de Rei or walk an additional 2–3 hours. The road is paved and very quiet, so it's worth planning your transportation in advance. However, if you're looking for a peaceful setting away from the crowds, the location can also be a positive.
Summary: Great place just off the Camino de Santiago—well worth the detour!

Positive: Setting was lovely. Beautiful restoration of buildings.
Negative: The advertised facilities of steam room and sauna were very odd. An extra €25 euros per hour per person to use them. It was like a bathroom with a Turkish bath and jacuzzi bath that appeared to be unused. The sauna wasn’t on so would not have been available in time - so this facility should not really give you your extra star rating.
